Do you have the top 2 .NET's enabled in Turn Windows Features on or off?

I am using the Simple Save Editor, and I was able to use it to modify MP character files... seemed to work well enough.

I attached it.
If it doesn't work I can only assume your system is missing some library DLLs, I use the all in one VC runtime.

Yeah that stuff is awesome but it's not something that can just be applied like reshade etc. Its a lot of changes to models and textures etc too.

Generally for me it's install game, then 1.1, then JFLP, then I add in the various little file fixes cos I'm never sure which ones are included in JFLP. You know the zlib, mp3codec, no-cd etc.

Not on Windows 10, best to install it in any other directory than the default. I've had nothing but aggravation if i use the default path, install it anywhere else, no issues

I am using Windows 10...
And yes, sometimes it can cause issues when manipulating files in certain directories. Most of that can be solved by running as Administrator though.

Looks very much like the location you are running Freelancer.exe from doesn't have its corresponding files with it, which are the ones it claims are missing.

Try installing again, as administrator. Rather than just running the game as administrator - it doesn't sound like it has placed all the necessary files.

You may just need to navigate into the CD folders and find the setup.exe, and run that as administrator.

That may solve your initial issue.
But you will need the NO-CD as W10 doesn't support the way that Freelancer checks it's CD to see if it is in the drive.

The only account I have on my computer is the Administrator. I don't have any others. Where do I put the No-CD thing? Like where do I move the shortcut? Its on the desktop but I get a warning that says this:

common.dll was not found, dalib.dll was not found, movie.dll was not found,
dacom.dll was not found.

You are running the Freelancer.exe from your desktop? That's not where you run it from. It needs to be run from the location where all the rest of the files are.

Usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE/
You replace the original Freelancer.exe with the NO-CD version and then run the game from the usual installed shortcut.

J.R, ticking the box and selecting to bypass this screen would prevent it from appearing next time, it's part of the first run. So if it's bypassed it writes to the registry that it is not the first run and doesn't show this screen.

As for the username/password. I have never personally seen that screen but the only thought I have is that the game installation wants to connect to a server with a password and that the password is incorrect.

Like I said there is no reason for it to prompt you for anything, the game has no use of usernames/passwords.

The game would never ask anything about a username/pass, it doesn't need one. It only needs an MPID to identify which characters to load on any server you decide to inhabit.

Can you write down or screenshot the error when it happens?

Hahaha, that's not a total blatant complete rip off, at all.
But, how MS react to it might shed some light on if they still care about this game enough to slam em down.

Crazy, have you released the source code for the list server? Or are you planning to? I'd love to run my own...

My thoughts were Digital Anvil Library...
Was it something to solve the Windows 10 issue with directplay not being enabled by default? That's just a tickbox away usually...
