Just a hint to all you mod developers, Freelancer servers or whoever has an FL related project and wants to inform a larger audience:

We get quite an amount of visitors these days (more than double the amount of last year) so it might be worth to advertise your news on our front page.

To do so, simple follow this link and write a well-written news:
http://the-starport.net/freelancer/news/submit.php

If you feel like your favourite mod doesnt get the proper publicity, you can also write about it. Keep in mind though that news posts should actually be "news" and not a simple advetisement for your mod.

Got a new version released? Got some teaser for the next version?
Perfect time for a news post!

Also, keep in mind that we are able to host mods up to 2 GB in file size. If you have trouble uploading, simply contact a staff member and we will work something out.

How can you write a news item about an update for a mod and then say it shouldn't be an advertisement for it? Kind of defeats the object. Why i haven't bothered tbh.

That means that you should post updates about your mod.
But you shouldnt post if you dont have anything new to say, like "mod xy is the best try it now".

I thought the sentence was pretty obvious but hey, Im not a native speaker.

So, I finally came around to hooking the news comment link & count to the forum, so you now see on the news if it has comments and how many with a proper link
