Just my 2 cents:
1. If unmodded Freelancer runs fine, then everything went to hell once modded, itās the mod.
2. The XML parser is there to parse the internal XML format that Freelancer uses to display formatted text. It effects unmodded Freelancer as well, and a mod cannot change how Freelancer program handles text display.
3. Based on my experience (which came from activate and deactivating my own (abandoned) mod for no less than 5,000 times), the error āError: problem deactivating ā¦ā often means that you need to reinstall the game from fresh (Make sure Freelancer is deleted from the āProgram Filesā without a single file left). Normally, I backup the fully installed&patched game before open FLMM so I can restore it quickly.
4. In my memory, FLMM is kind messy. You should only install one on your computer, not multiple, and you donāt want to active multiple mods at same time. Also, you have to manually deactivate everything on it before you uninstall FLMM.
To be honest, not many people in the sector actually saw the artifact, at least not up close. So even if itās not accurate, who knows.
As far as I know, folks on Freeport-9 will buy anything that grows. And, guess what, I just happen to know the location of the very station. Itās located in a beautiful star system in the outer ring, where treasure and opportunity awaits.
I would love to continue to sharing my knowledge ā¦ for a small fee of $10,000,000 credits, of course. Youāll earn it back soon enough. Interested?
Youāre welcome boss
Soā¦ Iāve figured out how to do it:
1. Before login, you click the Forgot Password link and ask the website to send you a email
2. Click the link in the email the website has sent to you
3. The website will send you another email, containing a newly generated password of your account
4. Login with that new password, go to the Change Password page, and put the generated password into the āCurrent Passwordā box, and enter your own new password in the āNew Passwordā and āVerify Passwordā box.
It worked for me, maybe it will work for the others.
I guess the root cause of this problem is somebody misused strtolower
or strtoupper
. My old password contains an uppercased letter, it probably got strtolower
ed by the āChange Passwordā page and thus become mismatched with the real one.
Well, I sure hope they can do an upgrade or switch, because the XOOPS caused a real Oops this time LOL.
Plus, to be honest, this program was and still is a pain in the a-area anyways.
On the second thought, maybe try something like Mastodon, itās like a social network like Twitter you can host on your own server.
Hi Ruppetthemuppet,
I tried Chrome, but the problem seems donāt want to go. I guess there is a problem in the server code.
If the staff is considering to switch to newer server program, from what Iāve heard, the cool kids now days uses Discourse, you can pair it with a blog to publish articles (or not, post article as a forum post seems work well)
Donāt know what to do with the downloads though.
Hello there,
So I just logged back and thought maybe I should btw change the password of my account after this long time.
However, the Change Password page, which is located at https://the-starport.net/modules/profile/changepass.php doesnāt seems to recognize my old password and thus keep rejecting the new one.
I mean, I just re-logged in to verify that the password I used in the āCurrent Passwordā field is correct, so I donāt think it was me who messed it up.
Could somebody check the code for a bit to see if there is anything fishy and buggy in there? And fix it while you at it? Please.
Thanks!

The subreddit seems even more dead than we are, about a post a month.RSI of course has way more traffic, but Roberts has been pretty clear about him largely not caring about Freelancer and Starlancer. Wing Commander is his pet series, the rest can rot. It certainly doesnāt make me feel particularly welcome, and I donāt think posting about TSP there would help us much anyway (not to mention itād probably be removed).
Well, I donāt agree with that.
The company who import EVE into China also build up a Official community for CEVE as well.
In the mean time, in China, there is another community build by player call EVE-China-Fans site (or ECF), and which is way more popular than the Official one.
I think the key is: Be Unique
Maybe you guys can figure out how to make this community more adaptable with those Key games.
By adaptable I mean not only make something like skin theme (simple one), news source etc but also doing something like data sync so player can see their game data in this website. Donāt know if thatās possible through.
And also, donāt bind yourself with one game
Maybe itās my bad English make you misunderstood my point ā¦ Itās always flickering so ā¦
There is no difference between IT-related and regular people, in fact, IT-related people is regular people too (Iām a human, what you are thinking there ) ā¦
I rather believe IT guy had higher UX requirement than others, because they use too many software. However ā¦
I know that you want now.
Yes, I tried myBB. Itās appears more function rich. But after I checked the code, I canāt say itās a maintainable choice. So as phpBB. (Itās procedure-oriented)
XenForo is not the good way, I rather pay for IPB or vBulletin.
I also tried the esoTalk, but now I think itās too light for this task. Vanilla forums has suck code style ā¦
Well, looks essentially I donāt actually know what forum software is good, they all suck for me, just some light-weight applications less suck ā¦

Well, since this topic is come to my field (Iām a newbie web developer), I couldnāt support you at this point.
Take look those Star counts (On GitHub), Itās obvious vanilla forums gets more interest from peopleā¦
But I donāt like either of it, I make my own one if I had to.
I will try to make a donation when I finished my current project and got a new job.
Keep it up!
Yeah, I conform it feels little bit faster than the old server, but I think itās because Cloudflare node is changed ā¦.
And, maybe ā¦ enable SSL support that provided by Cloudflare? https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl
EDIT:
Yeah, the node is definitely changed ā¦ to some where not belongs to Cloudflare.
AND:
The HTTPS page gives me a ObenVbN loginā¦
Well, you guys obviously knowing much better than me about the back of this web site.
On the other handā¦.
I used to run a small Chinese comunity long before, which share same topic with spacesimcentral.com. And itās larger than spacesimcentral.com in amount of post & replies. (But quality is low I have to say)
We donāt have staffs at that time, only moderators who also contribute contents like MODs and Tips. But most contents is contributed by users.
Iām not saying the community is healthy, but it shows that web site run by user generated content is workable (Technically, this web site is mostly UGCāed too). So you may no need that many staffs you expected.
Of course, it will be a quality issue but I think it could be resolved by appropriate community management. (You have to discover it yourself)
Even you need to post news and keep track updates by yourselfs, itās just cost few hours every week. (Writing news is not rock science, not in this topic)
And ā¦ well, Xoops sucks. Article is difficult to categorize and read, download is not easy to use, only thing that relatively useable is the forumā¦
Lot of good web application come out those years: Wordpress is good one and not just a blog, and Forum application like VanillaForums, esoTalk, Discourse (SEO may sucks), Flarum (SEO sucks), every each one is far better than PHPBB.
Consider to move to another application if you want to change direction of this website maybe?
Source code? well, I donāt think so ā¦ as they said they lost it between servers.
Good point it, FL is not the end of this website, And make a game is more easier than old years (So there will(already) be a lot of it).
Donāt limit your sight on web sites like spacesimcentral.com, itās just (no offense) a small one.
But the topic (Space and science fiction) is huge, and there will be a lot of chance in it.
So keep it up.
BTW: I donāt know much about server, but seems VPS is more cheaper & flexible choice, maybe Linode or DigitalOcean is better than hosting & managing a physical server?
Well, Itās fine.
So the Firewall driver is not working with 64 bit system.
But I noticed it only causes problem in kick function, Ban on the other hand is working.
But Banā¦ had problem (BUG?) in my Windows 7, my adminās Server 2008 and my virtual XP (English) testing machine. (So letās say itās not working at all)
I guess thatās because it uses [c]LBN_SETCURSEL[/c] to select items in Listbox on Account list window, which will not trigger [c]LBN_SELCHANGE[/c] (MSDN said that) and other crucial calling ā¦.
So I managed to nailed this problem, by manually call those missing stuff and get BAN function back to work.
In case anyone else need it too, I attached my buggy path with this reply. Add it to [Libraries] in dacomsrv.ini.

Hi Huor,
What happen after this? Is this problem been resolved?
The URL above telling me stories about 403 and 404.
We had same problem here on a Windows Server 2008 server, The CD is up with that error and not picking up any online players.
One thing also bad is, the Anit-Cheat plugin made for FLHook is not support FLHook 2.0+, and there is no source code for it.
LOL, I also got this problem too.
Luckily I did a search and discovered this topic before start to talk about it.
Thank you.
Iām looking forward to see if someone will reimplement FLHook with LISP which invented by John McCarthy and Paul Graham.
