I thought this could be a nice thing to do...

If you have any effect, no matter ALE or simple beams or even fuses, that you really are proud of or just wish to show, post it here for everyone to wow on it! This should be the number one place to see shiny stuff and get inspiration for new, even shinier stuff. Be sure to post a lot of pictures or even videos if you can!

Please, keep this topic about the effects themselves. You can discuss how you built an effect, but too generic questions shall be reserved for their own threads.

May the shiny stuff start 'sploding in our browsers.

I hope this counts. This is my Static Gateway for my TC mod. It took me two days of straight work to get the running start right, and as you can see, there's still a little glitch in it. Don't ask how I did it as I worked for a day to get it to do this, ended up screwing it up, then spent another day trying to fix it got it working by accident.

As DA posted my effects above, I'll just say a little about them.

Pretty much it was just a proof-of-concept to prove that the effect i"m editing (gf_nomadwormholeopening part of dyson_city.ale) successfully decompiles and recompiles with changes made to it.

Plus it looks really cool to have your entire screen turn orange when a nuke detonates at 1100-odd metres.

Glad you added what the effect was about - otherwise it's impossible to comment upon it

Is it not possible to get more of a blast radius a la mines going off? Just increased in size/visibility, and then with that thing shining out of the middle of it?

Here's a flash for a nuke from 40k away (it's faster and a bit more realistic now but I haven't touched fl for about two weeks or so, so no new video) and the explosion itself (without flash) at closer range. I did this some time ago and progress was posted on digitalbrilliance:

Great work Aden, this guy is a genius when it comes to ALE editing!

Why don't you guys share what you have found, I have seen some really great work that alot of the people on here would love to see. What is shown here so far is just a small taste of what I have seen. We really want to see what you have done, so please post your videos or pictures of new FX that you have created here.

I know its no .ale effekt like the others but still was some work to get the lightmaps right.
