    the Star Trek Star fleet command games (which i think are the best star trek games to ever be released) was set in the time when the phasers were pulsed.

    I prefer it like that tbh rather than those single long beams.

    IPv6 is a new internet protocol that we didn’t mod Freelancer to support yet. In case you have a rather recent OS such as Vista and later, you want to disable it (google for as to how) in order to have your game use the same protocol as the servers do.

    Also, keep in mind, that most servers only support clients that have their respective mod installed, so sometimes you want to filter the server list ingame to display only those with compatible builds so only those you can join are displayed.

    .OBJ format is the way to go, guarantees universal useage and simple to convert to FL format. If you look at turbosquid or similar, nearly everything on there is in OBJ format for this reason.

    Still a few mods being released, Genesis was the last one i saw on moddb but there are others

    Ioncross is up and running version 1.0
    You basically have to re-learn how to play freelancer in this mod.
    There’s a hand full of ppl playing atm, Would love to see some more fresh blood.
    I for one like the risks it brings, instead of the horde of nomad using eagles some servers have.

    Provider says the server mainly (and likely Only) for Web server, when i ask them i will use this to run a game server on my VPS, they laugh and say i will be suspend if i use too many resource.

    So i here to ask this question…. the server maybe just 5-10 people online in same time and running FLHook only. (in this case, let’s us the 1.0 server for a standard).

    I have a cheap VPS with configuration similar to yours.
    I got that for cheap price from XnYnZ.com .They are providing excellent service and support.They provide a service called Bandwidth Overage Protection .So that when my allotted bandwidth is exceeded I can buy extra bandwidth to use.You can also try their hosting service.

    Balancing a mod is really a pain, and for some reason, it’s kinda unrealistic that Bombers weapons has no weapon type such as capital ship weapons, it could be better for balance.

    Capital ships for civilian isn’t a bad idea, considering Star Wars, there is independent faction like Hutts, CSA and CIS (militarized merchants), in FL there is war between ALG and GMG, why couldn’t they have build Capships?

    Freelancer gives weapons to civilians, we can continue to this way, United-Statians have the right to bear guns, why a civilian couldn’t fly a cruiser in an interstellar point of view?

    I made a simplier solution for my project:

    If your ship was destroyed, you will be respawned at nearby homeworld system base with free tier 0 tech ship and equipment depending on your char’s faction/side.

    Ofcourse this way works with other game features not mentioned here to achieve quite nice permadeath solution.

    GC is bit laggy with NPCs for me, so i started my own server, while i’m playing Frontier Space.

    Features:

    Cruise not more 600 NPCs using CMs Over 70 restarts FLHook&FLShell Cloak&Full-HD with DSAce.dll Missions level matches players level

    technically only a few are different as they have a pretty high polygon number which might be problematical for FL

    but most of then can be used in FL…
    creating a texture… uv-mapping them…exporting them to cmp… building a custom sur… building a wireframe model and hardpointing them

    thats it
