Jus offer the js to every freely to download. Its not that you will not open the code cause everyone can see it too.
And when an update should be available - announce that here on the forum and send a mass mail to all users. If people are intent to update theirs too - then they would come over here to get the update.

The temporary site i made is online, but no one has seemed to go there yet, Uberlancer has been very quiet.

Ok, thanks, I was just wondering cause I don’t have FL on my computer right now, and I wanted to work on some systems for my mod (I’ll be really working on the mod once I get my game back)

Aww stop it lol, i didn’t say i was disappearing, just that i was closing my server. I’ll still be around 🙂

Eh, I think I will add some google ads there. Before everyone begins to cry: The money generated by adverts will flow into FL servers/projects which are at a critical financial state.
(For instance, ATM it might be FlyByU’s server)
By this way I can help to save the FL servers/community 😉

I had a thought a while back – we need press coverage – like an article in like Ars Technica or tg daily or such – if we could find somebody with a connection – i think that would attract alot of attention – just a thought ??

ps – i am working double shift slave labor these days till end of summer when i go into classes so dont turn around an go great idea why dont you do somethin about it – one of the reasons i havent been around lately

First Discovery servers getting send TBs of useless data, from 4 servers… Now this…
This is just creepy…

I’ve got a word from Crazy. His whole computer basically melted down so he’s having trouble accessing his data. The GLS is down for now because he can’t access it.

He also told me he’d change providers soon.

We really don’t have to have bracket or anything special like that. The interaction between servers itself will help cooperation between servers. Here is an example something easy.

Shattered Worlds::WarTorn and Gibbons Phoenix server decide to have an event. 10 guys from the SW::WT server go to the Phoenix server and create characters tagged as [SW::WT] <player name=“”>3) Gibbon and/or staff provide these characters money. These [SW::WT] tagged character talk to other players on the mod and ask about what loadout/ship they prefer then get it (this provides for interaction between players, so they realize that FL is a global community) Two days later there is a free for all fight, and the last man standing gains notoriety in the community(results and screenshots are posted on The Starport). Repeat steps 2-5 with the exception of the Phoenix server guys visiting the SW::WT server.

A likely result of this will result in a path of communication between the leaders and players of both servers bringing both of them closer together than they were before.</player>

;D everyone i know in RL… hates “that” word… Freelancer…

Totaly my fault… I’ve been FL. this and FL that for 4 years now…
I’ve even tried approaching local (and not so local) Netcafee’s to see if they’ll run FL as one of there games… to mixed results… but most told me to bugger off… “we play WOW here”… rotfl… whateva!..

I did get one taker… but that was XLR only… and XLR ain’t finished yet… 😎

So… yeah… i’ve been at this for years in AUS… and i’ll keep going untill there is no more of me to go… one of the main reasons i decided to take XLR public was to try and create a “buzz” in AUS… and to drag all my old Lan buddys into it… so far… still just me, oh and my drummer (who i’ve molded into one darn scary pirate!) seems FL in AUS is … dead… I have absolutely no idea why… And continue to fight the good fight! no matter what growls, scorns or rolled eyes i recieve… ;D

Oh and whatever you do… dont post a thing on myspace game forums … I got chewed up by an admin there for trying to get a “FL still alive and kicking” Thread happening… I implore everyone who has acces to the Myspace forum to check it out… and see just what im talking about… they were quite… rude…

Point being peeps… There will be times when you’ll feel the whole world hates FL… and you for loving it… don’t get discouraged… give em the “hand”… and tell em to talk to it!.. then move along knowing that the FL community is here… and always will be in some form.

Im already doing a fair few things from the “list” … and will endeavor to do more when resources/time allows. 😉

I still love the original Elite cockpit layout, with 3d radar, it looked quite like the bottom pic middle display above. Used to run it on a BBC micro, remember those? ;D
