the numbers of players on a server has not neccessarily something to do with the quality or the size of the community behind it.

My server does not have the numbers of players like the top servers eventhough it remained in to top 10 of the servers for almost 5 years. Still, behind it stands one of the largest FL communities, which very often is based on strong singleplayer aspects. There are also other very strong communities around mods which dont reach the number of online players that discovery or hhc have.

If you dont know who belongs to the most active or best mods then vote for all, like it was suggested. That way you for sure dont do something wrong. ^^

yes - but the results show that not all ppl vote for all mod which is just natural
but we should make sure that the members of our communities at least vote for the biggest and most active mods because these are the ones which have the best chance to reach the top100

if ppl vote for these mods good, if ppl vote for all mod even better but the "good" should be the minimum we should aim for.

they dont edit the results
i know that for sure as im in good contact with one of their admins

it would not even be neccessary to edit anything because the current results a very illusionary

1700 votes for FL
maybe the best FL mods have 200-300 votes

that is not much
eg. a game that is ranked on position 12 and has only 700 votes in total but but has a mod with 400 votes would be still far higher ranked in the top 100

even if FL is on position 2 it might happen that no FL mod reach the top 100 because there are not enough votes for that mod.
To give votes to small FL mods is nothing wrong if we want to push the game, but we should make sure that the big mods which are able to reach the top 100 get every possible support.
Only that will bring FL mods into the top100 ranks.

And when the 2nd phase of the voting has started then we have to make sure that the top100 mods (FL) receive a maximum of support aswell.

Voted for the major FL mods as they have the best chance to reach the top100 and sent out 8000 mails asking old players to vote for FLmods.
Another 6000 mails will follow today.

The responses so far are quiet positive with many votes returned, but from experience I would say that it takes at least a weak before all mails are being read.

However - Merry X-mas and good luck

If they run it private... ok ... fine.
But they are here to announce it. And their steam channel also is not a private area. They directly violate valve copyright rules already.
But like i said... if they run it private and nobody in the FL community ever gets to see or download it... fine.

Why are we actually still discussing about it?
Throw these thiefs outta here. Every other FL site and modding community will do the same. Their steam channel can also get closed if neccessary as valve has pretty clear rules regarding copyrights. Then these jerks can sit on their empty server and stare at their stolen "work".

There is not a single FL site that condones theft. And obviously these ppl have not come here to contribute anything.
@solcommand - i-net might be open but it also has to follow laws. The last two which decided to steal from my mod had to close their server.

What do you want to resolve FF? They are using at least one of my starspheres and probably even more. They have not even corrected an texture overlay after stealing it. The only way to resolve it is when they remove that and everything else that they probably have taken from my mod.

I'd like to give you a good advice. Remove every Crossfire content from your mod now, because if I see your mod somewhere containing stuff from my mod then you will end up with the worst trouble you can imagine. And I definitly dont care about how much traffic you have or how big 4chan is.

So take this advice, remove the Crossfire content, do the same if the other modders request it and we will be fine. (and for gods sake stop talking about other peoples work in such a respectles way)
