I'm still hoping for things to settle down a bit and I believe they will, but I just really hope they'll be able to restore the old DBs.

The images aren't published. That's why they won't show up.
EDIT: Fixed the code. Should now only display published images in the Random Image Module and should not count the unpublished images in the Gallery.

The Starport is a safe haven for everyone. Please respect these simple rules in order to facilitate the interactions and daily workings of these forums and enjoy your stay.

Global Rules

  • Do not flame! This includes any rudeness, insult, personal attack, bashing, attack against a particular trait (racism, sexism, etc.) or any other sort of inflammatory post. Please remember flaming in response to a flame is also an offense.

  • Do not post spam or advertise (this of course is acceptable in certain areas under specific circumstances, see below).

  • Do not link to or post about Warez, Torrents, pornography or any other kind of illegal activity.

  • Do not make meaningless posts or posts which do not pertain to the forum/thread they are posted in (off-topic posts or hijacking).

  • Do not post short posts such as "okay" or "I agree".

  • Do not double/multi-post; the Edit button is available to all for a reason!

  • Do not make more than one account. If you are having technical issues which require you to make more than one account, please advise a Staff member as soon as possible.

Specific Rules
Certain forums or categories have specific rules. Be sure to respect those too!

Additional Guidelines and Notices
Notice: While these are not technically rules, they are highly suggested guidelines to which everyone should adhere.

  • These forums use English as their primary language. Please refrain from posting in any other language to avoid confusion and help communication. Feel free to use language-specific boards if available or even request boards in your own language.

  • Remember that if you want to chat or speak to a certain person, it is best to do so through private messages or via your favorite instant messenger. The forums are not there for personal discussions.

  • The Starport does not control what is being exchanged through private messages; if you are being sent offending material through private messages, you can contact a Staff member or attempt to resolve the matter with the sender.

  • The authority of Staff member must be seen as absolute and definitive. You are of course free to contest any action through private messages, but do not reply to the Staff directly through forum posts. It is recommended to contact a Staff member other than the one you are having a problem with.

  • A Staff member must always give reason for any action he or she has done. If you did not get an explanation, please send a private message to the Staff member for additional insight. It is best to first contact the Staff member before doing anything else!

  • If you see anything you consider offending, no matter if directed at yourself or at someone else, please report it to a Staff member as soon as possible. Remember the Staff sometimes does not notice offending material right away or that the material may be seen as correct by some and incorrect by others.

  • Please verify the dates on the threads before replying! If you have purposeful information to add that would give new value to the thread you want to post in, go ahead. Otherwise, make sure whatever you want to say is necessary or if you’d be better off making a whole new thread instead.

  • Please attempt to do basic spell checking. It might not be easy for some and nobody will be penalized for it, but even an automated spell checker can drastically help understanding.

Sanctions
If you break the rules, you will be given one of the following sanctions, depending on the severity of the offense. As noted above, you are free to contest the decision through private messages.

  • Warning. This is the most common sanction and basically is only a notice so you know you’ve done something wrong. No actual penalty is associated with this.

  • Posting Suspension. If you get repeated small offenses, you likely will be suspended for a certain period of time. This means you will be able to freely read the forums, but not reply or create new threads.

  • Temporary Ban. This is reserved for the most extreme repeated offenders or first-time large offenses. You will not be able to access the forums for the decided period.

  • Ban. This is an exceptional measure for critical offenses such as posting pornography or outright disrespect. You will never be able to access the forums again.

  • IP Ban/ISP Ban. This sometimes is used in conjunction with a standard ban to stop offenders from creating additional accounts. An IP Ban will block your Internet Protocol Address from accessing the site, while an ISP Ban will also block addresses from the same area as yours.

Please remember that most offenses are considered as small offenses. Pornography is always a critical offense. Flaming, depending on the severity, can range from large to critical.

Offending posts, depending on their nature, will be edited and/or locked. We try to refrain from deleting posts, but rare cases are still possible (namely flame posts with no value or pornography).

The servers hosting the site will be upgrading to PHP and MySQL 5 in the near future (no exact date set), so if you happen to see any sort of issue related to the site, make sure to point them out since they might be related with the migration.

I'm also personally very happy, since I've been waiting for it for months! ;D

Wasn't too wrong about them was I? ;D

As for the "kill_time_before_done", the ONLY possible idea would have to do with the "invicibility" you have when you jump in/out of jumpgates. Maybe it defines when/for how long this lasts?

Code:
[JumpShipEffect]
jump_out_effect = jump_out_effect
jump_in_effect = jump_in_effect

[JumpGateEffect]
nickname = jump_effect_bretonia
glow_ring_effect = jumpgate_rings, jumpgate_rings, jumpgate_rings, jumpgate_tunnel, jumpgate_end
glow_ring_hp = HpFX2, HpFX3, HpFX4, HpFX2, HpFX5
glow_create_time = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3
jump_out_time = 3
jump_out_tunnel_time = 7
jump_in_tunnel_time = 4
jump_in_time = 6
kill_time_before_done = 4
jump_tunnel_effect = jump_tunnel_interior_player
jump_tunnel = gate_tunnel_bretonia
jump_ambient = 128, 128, 255
jump_background_color = 255, 255, 255

[JumpGateEffect]
nickname = jump_effect_hole
glow_ring_effect = jumpgate_rings, jumpgate_rings, jumpgate_rings, wormholeactivation, jumpgate_end
glow_ring_hp = HpRingFX01, HpRingFX02, HpRingFX03, HpFX1, HpFX1
glow_create_time = 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3
jump_out_time = 3 ;I would expect this to be the time it takes from the point you leave the tunnel to when you get back control of your ship
jump_out_tunnel_time = 7 ;Time in tunnel before the white flash
jump_in_tunnel_time = 4 ;Time in tunnel after the white flash
jump_in_time = 6 ;This could be the time it takes from the point the cinematic starts to the point you're inside the tunnel
kill_time_before_done = 4 ;I have no clue what does that do...
jump_tunnel_effect = jump_tunnel_interior_player
jump_tunnel = gate_tunnel_bretonia
jump_ambient = 128, 128, 255
jump_background_color = 255, 255, 255

See, your best bet is to just put ridiculously high/low values in each of the parameter and test the jump sequence. You'll be able to see what each does from there.

I would further add to this by saying:
Whoever votes that the site "could be better"... Tell us what you want! In all honesty, complaining about a site won't get you anywhere if you complain to yourself or your friends. Show us what you want to see changed, added, upgraded. Tell us what's on your mind. It's only this way that we'll all be able to make the site even better than it already is.

The Starport Launched!
It is official: The Starport is launched!
Following the recent events and the multiple issues that happened in the Freelancer community, we, as a group of admins, developers and players, decided it was time to act. We wanted to have a hub where we could easily and freely group, discuss and help or get helped. This is why we have founded The Starport.
The Starport follows a mentality of "Listen to the community." We aren't here to impose what WE think; we're here to make sure everything is set for the best of the Freelancer community. Times are rough and it is only united that we will be able to make it through.
We already have mutliple functionalities, the most basic of which being the forums. Feel free to go around and start socializing with us, we're here to get things moving! The heart and soul of this community has to be you, visitors, guests and fellow players. We need your knowledge, your capabilities, your presence. We also have news and tutorials submission, for all those who have the talent and the know-how to make incredible things out of the Freelancer engine. We've also set a file repository for everyone who wants to share his tool, mod, documents and more. Whatever you want to share, we can host it. On top of that, remember that if you want to see something added, ask us! We're sure there are many things left to add.
What you see here is the foundation of a new community. If you want to be part of this effort, we'll welcome you happily. Remember that we've just started, too! We'll be getting many more tools and utilities as time goes, and our team is already collecting every ounce of tutorials, tools and downloads they can get their hands on to populate the forums and downloads sections.
So come, join us and have fun!
Dearly,
The Starport Team
