General Info:
The idea is to make FLHook highly customizable with plugins.
Plugins will only be "officially" approved in a later Sticky post within this forum. Only plugins with included source code will be approved due to the potential abuse possibilities.
Critical plugins, such as anticheat, also need to be approved, but the source code does not have to be posted publically.
There is a secure forum section within this FLHook forum for development of those critical plugins.
Just contact me for access.
If you dont want to share your source at all, just post your plugin as-is in this forum. It will however get a big red note that it may not be secure to use it.

Features:
- complete redirect of all hooked functions to external plugin functions stored in a .dll
- priority setting on each hooked function, so critical plugins like anticheat plugins are called before other plugins
- exception handling on a per-plugin base, you can see in the log which plugin is causing errors (if the plugin itself has no exception handling)
- loading/unloading and pause/continue of plugins on-the-fly (this will be a plugin-setting since some plugins may not support this)
- performance timers on a per-plugin base, you can see in the log which plugin has a poor performance
- /credits usercommand to give credit to plugin writers

FLHook related changes:
The first version will be based on a slightly modified v1.5.5 FLHook version. It will contain some bugfixes and improvements of the standard v1.5.5 features. I will not add additional functionality though, that's what the plugins are for.
In future versions, I will add more hooks so that plugin writers have more control and dont need to install their own hooks within their plugin (granted they know how to do it; also, those special hooks can cause incompatabilites with other plugins that hook the same special functions).

[Latest] Freelancer Global Server Workaround v1.0 Release

Freelancer Global Server Workaround v1.0 Release

This Workaround downloads serverips from a specific URL on every Freelancer start.[br /]
To get a fresh server list, you need to restart Freelancer.

Also, this Workaround patches Freelancer.exe to query an alternative global list server.[br /]
For compatability reasons with other mods, this Workaround overwrites the hostname address setting in the memory.[br /]
Changes to the listserver hostname entry in freelancer.ini will therefore be ignored.

Both, the Global List Server hostname and the serverlist URL can be changed in gls_workaround.ini, which is located in[br /]
the Freelancer/EXE folder.

This workaround will not work if Freelancer.exe has been renamed to any other name!

You could to that with missiles. Missile motors have a "delay" setting, which defines the seconds until it actually starts accelerating.

When refering to DX9 he is talking about the dll converter (enbs series, I linked it on the old TLR forums), its not his work.
I dont wanna be a nay sayer, but I just dont like it when one sells others work as their own.

btw. would be nice if you'd post your tutorials over here as well, you've got some very nice ideas!

It actually looks like the ini files were not decompressed.. but I thought I did run it on a fl sdk installation..
Maybe it was just an error on my part.

I used the path generator, but there are loads of paths entirely missing, like only a few connections are actually acalculated and whole systems just get ignored..

Flserver is called when setting waypoints to different systems. Locally i think its just client.

What do you mean?
What do I have to do on the client to be sure, the server is "asked"?

Can anyone tell me the crash offset when the flserver dies because of a faulty path file?

I dunno, but i'd assume that'd be a case of just removing any paths (so, no path for Li01 to Li02) and then try to do the jump?

Other than that, no idea.

Well, the point is the server does not crash without any path connections. The only time the server is involved when finding paths, is when missions require you to switch system. All other cases are client side only I think.
Anyways, even when doing missions and having no paths at all, the server will set the waypoint to the middle of the system (usually where the sun is^^), but it wont crash..

Additionally you should be aware that your passwords in the temp-tlr forums that went down this week are also at risk.

We now have dedicated german forums and might add forums for other languages as well if there will be a need.

Look at the "Comsat" section below Shipyard.

In the meantime you can use the global server workaround, found here:
