Hi!

I have two users with Windows 10 where all the FLHook versions we tried suppress any chat and most of the commands result in "Error: Exception occured".

Has anyone an idea how to fix this? We deleted the accounts folder with no success. Compatibility mode also has no success. The version is patched to 1.1.

Further infos would be good like:
You´re talking about clients (with win 10) on your www.server or local-server or what ?
Is the server running win 10 ?
Which versions/mods did you test (clientside) ?
Which version of flhook did you run serverside ?
Does anything else (except of chat) work as expected ?

Anyways:
AFAIK the most common problems exists clientside.. but this should be be confirmed by testing things like Firewall- and AV-Settings, IP-setting Deleted "restart.fl" and and and...

Greetings

J.R.

Did you make sure to install the DirectPlay components? They'll automatically install for the client, but I'm not sure about the server.

The players connect with Freelancer on their machine to the server in the same folder. Without FLHook they can chat. I have tested the same FL installation with the same FLHook version on my Windows 7 and there it works. It must be something we usually don't check.

Next I'll try to build the svn version with MSVC 2013, we'll see whether that works.

I've compiled the newest SVN Version with vs2013 and we also tested the one from SVN compiled with vs2015 with no success. At the moment it looks like FLHook is not working with Windows 10.

DirectPlay is installed.

I know for a fact that Hook works fine with Windows 10 because I've been using it for almost a year, and have other people who have done the same. That's not their problem.

You did install all the required redist for 2013 and 2015 (x86 of course)?

Yes, we tried in a VM with Windows 7 and the behaviour is the same. I found the error (and it was what I was afraid of): I left out one file from the patch when I made the mod installer years ago. Since the clients don't need the server.dll it did not matter :/ Now it haunts me years later

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the confusion.
