Does anyone have any experience with this combination?
I'm looking at upgrading the server with a new box and SSD but need Win7 to take advantage of the SSD.
Before I delve too deeply into this I wondered if you had any input on this combination. Does FLAC work with Win7?
I figured I'd install the 32-bit version of Win7 just to ensure compatibility.

I don't see why FLAC wouldn't work, but I think you're the last person to cling onto FLAC at this point so you might have trouble finding much info

Well, I'd have to rewrite most of the mod to make it compatible with something else and FLAC works.

Right now I'm having trouble finding 32 bit drivers for a couple of my components, most critically the network card...

I hate having to use 32bit to keep flac working as I lose more than half the usable memory but 3Gb of RAM should be more than enough to run FLServer.

The UnderVerse has used FLAC since our beginnings in 2006 and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Why do you need to use 32 bit?

Because it's my understanding that FLAC doesn't work with a 64-bit OS.

64 bit systems are full compatible to 32 bit programs. But 64 bit programs are not compatible to 32 bit systems. Probably you mistook that.

FLAC now runs in x64 bit windows (including windows 10). Contact DwnUndr in these forums for access to Eagle's old FLAC forums. Her is running that now and is maintaining/improving FLAC along with BullDog and others. They have provide amazing support for FLAC and have several plugins to add more features.

If you need some help with the setup, just PM me here or email me at [email protected]

My system is 64 & 32 bit so, I can still run pretty much anything for those. I'm still on W7 though.

Haven't run a server in a long time now due to my move and new ISP. They want $40 more a month for a static IP, in order for me to be able to run one, without having to constantly keep up with IP changes. I have a Dynamic IP now, it's useless for running servers.

A dynamic IP is only dynamic when it changes, which it doesn't normally as long as the modem is always on. I've run servers for years with a dynamic IP, never had issues
