Hey guys, I've been MIA for quite a long while, but do keep popping back from time to time.

I forget, what's the defacto standard for patching up right now? There are the patches, which I believe Quickfix is the standard (and most error free?). There are also the little files, like the zlib updated file? Basically wanting the most up to date client possible.

Also is there a way to hack the client to create the saved games etc in a relative path to the exe at all? I would like to create a more portable Freelancer with saved games relevant only to the seperate folders the client is in, rather than one central location.

Which graphical enhancing mods are currently best, along with any sound/music enhancements available.

Never mind about the hacking the client to change the saved games location. I have managed it with a simple batch file:

@Echo OFF

START EXE\Freelancer.exe

Put simply my folder layout now becomes:

\My Documents

Contained in the My Docs folder is all the save data Freelancer would use.

Meaning I can now copy and paste seperate portable folders for the various mods available. Keeping seperate saves for each one.

Of course this requires you manually copying a base vanilla install to a new folder, and then manually extracting a mod and merging it's files with the new game folder that you just copied. But it works.

I am toying with FLMM right now to see if it can work standalone so I can just include it in the portable version. More on that when I've slept.

NOTE: Adoxa's variant of FLMM creates own folder for each mod. Google here FLMM Opensource - something like this
