Ahoy fellow modders...

As this is my first post here, I'd like to start by thanking all who contribute here, on Digital Brilliance and on the old Lancer's Reactor. You articles and guidance have been an inspiration and salvation as we quietly learn these modding skills.

One thing we are very keen on with our mod is disabling single player mode. I saw NS did it in his mod.

I don't know where to start with this though. Could someone help me out give me some guidance, or at least point me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance!

Rik

@ rik

Disabling SP. First thing to do is create some dummy ini files to go into the SP folders, DATA\MISSIONS
Here you will see the folders marked M01A, M01B and so on. Inside each of those put an empty npcships.ini file and you can forget SP will work again. This is how NS did it as he's a good friend of mine and we talked about this ages ago. This also means that if anyone clicks to start an SP game on the main menu, they will ctd.

Hey Gibbon,

Thats fantastic thanks very much.

@mknote - no this mod is going to be multiplayer only.

Anyone know how to remove to the "New Game" and "Load Game" buttons?

TIA

I haven't managed to remove them, i just changed what was written in the boxes to UNAVAILABLE. The numbers you need to modify are in the resources.dll, just can't remember which ones. I've got it looking like this,

@ OP

I agree that a ctd is not the best. The point is, trying to disable SP. The way i've described does this but the problem is now the menu screen. Most people who understand english will not click where it says UNAVAILABLE. Some will. Those that do will ctd. If i knew how to disable those two buttons on the menu screen, believe me i would lol

Multiplayer only? Why the hell would you do that? There are people (like me) who absolutely hate multiplayer.
