Hello starport citizen.

I need help for fixing the cockpit camera if the cockpit is on the left or right side of the ship. And adjust 3rd person camera to the center.

So if I edit the ship's .cmp using CMP editor and place the HPcockpit to the left or right side of the ship, the "cockpit view" will be assigned on those position of the ship.

The Problem is that the 3rd person view camera is not on the rear center of the ship cause it follows the assigned HPcockpit where it is placed to the left or right side of the ship. So the ship is either on the left or right side of the screen.

camera_offset from shiparch.ini is not a solution for this problem because I tested it and it only use Y & Z axis. What I need is to make the camera X axis view for 3rd person to make it to the rear center of the ship.

Any solutions for this problem.

Hello wasabi. I also tried this cockpit thing and it is true that when you move the cockpit hardpoint to the left or right side of the ship, it makes the ship to be on the left or right side of the screen. Hope someone could help us.

I looked everywhere even at the camera.ini and can't figure it out how to do the horizontal or x-axis camera to change its value.

hmmm..? how about creating 2 HPcockpit? will it work? Its just my thought that it might help or maybe not. I am not sure about this.

Do you have your camera setting in the shiparch.ini set properly? The cockpit setting should be ignored when it's set IIRC (been 2 years since I modded FL)...Commonly this is a separate file referenced the the ship entry.

Try to import the cockpit cmp into milkshape and move it from the center to the left or right direction. Then export back and set a proper Hp for it also check the shiparch.ini as Lancer suggested.

my values from my camera_offset = 12, 50... Is this the parameter that you two were saying?

But I never thought about what just Davis said maybe that is a good idea if I edit the cmp to make the cockpit on the left side and the camera is on the center. I will try it.

That offset is a 2d and 3d setting. The normal is simply 2d, make it a format of x,y,z and it uses 3d instead...
