It's looking good so far but if you're using another engine, why not make something like Freelancer 2 which would be far more popular ?

Also, what cool new feature does this new engine bring to the game ?

At first we want create full Freelancer features.
It's other engine, don't mod.

New features - impressive graphic, feature to leave the ship in space and take other ship, full miner mod, to control the battleship need a few people, maybe bases and planets will be playable locations. Dynamic economy, political map

...and maybe it will open-source

Sounds interesting man. Do you happen to have a newer vid ? Cause you said the other one is old and I saw there's a significant difference between the pics you showed and the vid.

u should maek it open source when it's done. it'd extend the life of Freelancer, since you could do so much, which we reeaaaaaly need.

Bump-mapping, generating ship geometry, physic etc.

Fraps makes video more contrast and darker...

Last build: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17286522/185.rar
(some bugs in ships formation script)

Awesome, I'm starting to become quite annoyed at the FL engine.

And *HOLY SHIT* it looks awesome in the second video. The lighting is perfect, and space is dark as it should be.

Hmm, nice idea. I'll try to make import ini-files.
