Inter-server Events Tournament

Hey guys,

We've just released a new update on Monkey Universe in time for Christmas, however after New Year, we hope to be able to work on a small project which would improve our relations and benefit the Freelancer gaming network as a whole.

What we hope to be able to do, if anybody here is interested, is joint-host an inter-server Events tournament, where Monkey Universe players will compete with another server/your players in a head-to-head tournament. Obviously this would be hosted using Vanilla (or if it's possible a combination of ships from the two competing servers, but that is not expected) so that is fair to both sides. Our event team does have a few proposals as to what may be possible, with suggestions from the community. However in fairness, these are just proposals, you may have far better ideas if you are interested. We have done this sort of thing before in the form of PVP knockout with the TFL server (their best fighters vs our best fighters) and that was a great hit. We think that this is something which would be ideal to improve server relations and something which would also benefit freelancer players as a unity. It would also be a unique advertising opportunity for someone to jump in on.

This is however just a plan of something we could do; there may be better ideas, but as this was a hit with communities before, it did seem logical to see if it would be possible again.

Anyone interested? Any ideas?

as long as this will be available to all servers and not only to the major ones, the idea is great. sure would increase the player counts if the events are large enough.

It is indeed an opportunity which is open to anyone as we are not a big community ourselves and of course, we will have some proposals to post tomorrow.

This would be just a one-off project with one other community to begin with and if proved successful, we would look at continuing it, as this wasn't done before.

I will not take somebody serious who uses the words "kicks-ass" in his main webpaige.

Good luck to you.

kicks-ass.org is a hoster. monkey universe used it for hosting their forums and mod (server, too?) and there is nothing wrong about it. however, popping in and making a sentense like this as the first post of all is no good start to build up a reputation in the community or a sincere and serious impression.

Then that is entirely your choice Fresh.

However this is generally aimed at any FL admin who wishes to partake in such an opportunity which would unite and show our appreciation of the Freelancer gaming community, as well as improve our inter-server relations.
