JFLP (for short, pronounced jay-flip) is an unofficial patch for Freelancer. It expands on the work of Louva-Deus (SDK/QuickFix) and Buck Danny (Unofficial FL SP Patch), providing many additional improvements. Some new features have also been added:
However, it does not include the official patch. It's available from my Site or Freelancer Critical Downloads (once I upload it, subject to approval).

Were you able to get WinCamera settings (in camera.ini) to be applied on startup instead of on ship launch for the widescreen support? Or did you use a different method of providing widescreen support?
EDIT: just checked it out and it you did, as well as calculating the correct FOV on the fly; nice work. One thing I would suggest doing, however, would be to also set the other FOVs (TurretCamera, ThirdPersonCamera, etc), not just WinCamera. This will make it "true" widescreen in that the view will be wider compared to 4:3 instead of being cropped compared to 4:3.

Quote: # additional controls, including rolling and vertical strafing; withouth any offense, I am a bit critical about this, especially about the vertical strafing - It has an HUGE impact on pvp and players who use it have QUITE BETTER CHANCE to win.

@Gibbon: you can set a directory other than FL's install dir to extract the files to (on the Install Location screen). Alternatively, you can open the installer using 7-zip and extract the files from there.

@Motah
As soon as i logged out i realised this lol, and installed it to a dummy FL folder so i can see what's there now ![]() *** EDIT *** @adoxa In your freelancer.ini file you have this, [;Display] <---------------- semi colon inserted, don't think you need that there fullscreen = 1 size = 1024,768 color_bpp = 32 depth_bpp = 32

@M0tah: I already do handle the other cameras, but you must still load a game first before they take effect (their initialisation is done before the resolution is set, so the intro still gets the default 4:3).
@Bas: Well, being a patch, the intention is that everyone will have it. Both of these are already present in FL, it was only the key definitions that were missing. @Gibbon: The commented Display header was part of the original, which I kept. I guess I could remove that section altogether, especially since I use the desktop resolution as default, to support widescreen.

@ adoxa
Here's a question and i probably have it wrong, but in the dacom.ini there is this line in the Libraries section, .\flmaterials.dll I'm assuming this dll has something to do with the way the textures are displayed. The interesting thing is the dll in question isn't called that in the EXE folder but flmaterials.dll So does the .\ actually mean anything? Just to try things out i changed that entry to refllect the actual dll name as listed in the EXE folder and so far have had no crashes and maybe it's just me, but the effects look better, although it could just be my eyes lol. Reason i ask this is it's listed in your updated dacom.ini as it is in the original but removing those two characters does nothing apart from possibly making things look better, although as said i might be decieving myself

. (dot) - is just a reference to current directory in the filesystem as .. (two dots) is parent directory. No magic here

That's my point though, it's not referencing anything like its setup in dacom ini, and its .\ as well lol

@Gibbon: As OutCast says, .\ is just a reference to the current directory, so it has no real effect. Maybe it was a remnant from an alternative path. I shall remove it for the next version (along with the commented Display section in Freelancer.ini).
@Helloween: Hope you weren't dreaming for long, the "Roll Baby Roll" mod had been around for ages...

2 options to go with the above comment.
1. You learn to use vertical strafe 2. If you don't want the option there, then remove the new files, simple

It is not. Because everyone who uses this patch has a very extreme advantage to those who don't. That's my point.
Don't get me wrong, I am not totally against the new patch, but I am not sure about if this feature should remain in it. Not to mention that some server admins, and if I am one I would do the same for sure, see it as a cheat and will bann players once they recognize them using the vertical strafe techniques.
