How can this be done, except with Freelancer Explorer?
Like if I want Manhattan to offer max lvl missions?

Heyo.
A simple edit I can't find a tutorial for. How can I change a weapon's class? For example making the Kraken Type 2 from class 9 to class 8.

Also is the same edit be possible with shields?

EDIT: Nevermind I found it

hp_gun_type = hp_gun_special_X in weapon_equip.ini

I just noticed the jump time in the patch notes. That is for telling me the original values though!

Question about Jason's Freelancer Patch

Heya.

So I'm using JFP for my vanilla game and I got a couple of issues.

Firstly, I see that Jason changed the jump time to be 0, meaning you jump instantly tough holes/gates. Any way to revert that to the original?

Also, this might not be directly the patch's fault, but sometime when I run into a mine my ship flies off in a random direction. It's just a small nuisance, nothing major.

Thanks!

Oh. I already have the JELP patch and a no CD patch. I wasn't sure if those was "good" and well for modding.

Thank you for the information!

I want to make some personal modifications for Freelancer. Intended only for me and SP. Should I apply some patch before I begin? If so, which one?

Hello.

I've been looking for 88 Flak's soundtrack .flmod. However every link I find is dead.

Does anyone have it?

Hello.

I want to change the font of the players name on the bottom left scanner and target screen. I know how to edit fonts.ini and rich_fonts.ini. I only don't know which fonts correspond to what ingame.

Making a new commodity icon 3db file

So I made a icon .tga file. I want to include it in a 3db file so I can use it. I tried importing the .tga into another icon-3db file and renaming it, but that didn't work - the game didn't display it (i used weapon_goods.ini to assign the icon to a commodity).

How do I go about doing this? Making a new 3db file or editing a already existing one to work?

So I exported it as a .dds file.
I also got a .dds plugin for Gimp and I was able to edit it.

Why didn't I think of doing that earlier...

I'm having trouble editing a particular part of the hud. It's this one right here.

http://i.imgur.com/19x4jFc.png

The highlighted part in city_maneuvertab1.cmp

Thing is, normally such files are in .tga format. I can easly edit them in GIMP and import them back in the city_maneuvertab1.cmp file. But it doesn't work with this file.
How can I edit it?

No, with notepad, in your System.ini.

For example in New York system :

Code:
[Background]
basic_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_stars_basic.cmp
complex_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_li01_stars.cmp
nebulae = solar\starsphere\starsphere_li01.cmp

put a ; in front of your background nebula or starsphere with stars :

Code:
[Background]
;basic_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_stars_basic.cmp
;complex_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_li01_stars.cmp
;nebulae = solar\starsphere\starsphere_li01.cmp

That should make a black space ambient, no stars no background.

Removed only the line:
nebulae = solar\starsphere\starsphere_li01.cmp
and it worked like a charm!
Exactly what I wanted.

However, is there a way to do this directly trough the .cmp files?
I plan on using this on the Discovery mod server, and they don't like people tampering with .ini files.

Anyway, thanks alot!

Comment out every starsphere but the stars line in the system? That should just render stars.
