Hi,

If nobody else has undertaken this I may work on issuing a new flconfigdatabase.txt for the latest nvidia cards, because Raumpirat's additions to Louva-Deus's additions are wrong - cards misidentified, etc.

If someone can get me a master list of PCI IDs for ATI cards, I would greatly appreciate it.

One thing I've noticed is that the font used by the WSUS offline updater is also very badly rendered even in the monitor's native resolution (see attached image).

I wonder if this has any linkages to the fact that Freelancer has a rendering problem with the particular font in the screenshots.

[ EDIT: Well, Jesusalmighty, it wasn't even Freelancer-related at all, It turns out a recent update corrupts fonts. Thanks, Microsoft.

By the way, this totally rocks. I've long wanted subtitles for the game because I don't understand half the dialog (especially the important stuff with the Dom Kavosh :| ).

It's particularly vexing because I can't seem to quite run down the source of this issue when a very similar installation on a different computer didn't have this problem. See the screenshot to get an idea of what I mean, with an in-game resolution of 1280x960 (which closely matches the native resolution of 1280x1024 on the Samsung 931BF I'm using).

Further tech notes: DX9 full redist from MS + DirectX 11, OS is Vista 32-bit SP2, system is a Phenom II X4 945 + K9A2 Platinum and the Geforce driver version is 340.52.

{UPDATE: I checked on my other system and one thing I noticed is that the font still kinda looks jaggy, but it's "bolded" and has a shadow effect under it like some of the other FL fonts do. I wonder what little quirk that involves.)

Basically it's like the font antialiasing got screwed up in the first image (Phenom II) and not as badly in the second image (different system).

I can't find the targetting blocks - like, when you click on a ship a kind of frame goes around it? I can't find where to change those colors, but I was able to change the color of the reticle where you click to aim your weapons.

Yep, That'll be the GMG "Skyblast/Sunblast" type weapon. Great and kickass for the levels they're at. 8.33 refire rate for a class 8? Nothing to sneeze at

Has anybody worked out what missile names correspond to what entries in the weapon_equip.ini?

I want to make some ludicrously powerful missiles because I want to blow up ships in SP So I want to modify the properties of a missile in FL to do this. But buggered if I know which missile is which!

Cool! I also noticed a person with the last name Cryer, so we now know where Cryer Pharmaceuticals comes from

I see there's no "Sean Ashcroft" there.

I use Vista 64-bit, what seems to work is using "Run As Administrator" when I right-click the shortcut.

Could you summarize the problem and how it was fixed in case someone else runs across it? A lot of the body of knowledge about how to fix freelancer is decaying because we're losing websites (EOA for example) so it's important to let people know what to do so they don't reinvent the wheel each time
