It would be easier just to kill anyone docked with a base that was destroyed and respawn them at a previous or predefined location that still exists.

If you use multipart bases (battleships) and you destroy just a part of the ship without killing the whole base, the destroyed part will respawn with 0 hp.

This would make for an interesting RP server if multipart bases could be destroyed in stages and those changes were held persistently.

Any chance to keep destroyed solars offline past a server restart

Not sure if this is a serious request or not... I should be able to note when an object is destroyed, write it to a file, then when the server restarts, it could read that file and prevent those objects being read from the system file. If timing was wanted, it would be restricted to a minimum time, since it would only work when the server restarts.

Another interesting RP idea: if all bases are destructible and then completely vanish from the system file (by exclusion on startup) as they are destroyed then you could have clan wars.

I do not. I could ask for it perhaps.

@adoxa do you use any IM services?

Once it's available, can I include it in JFLP?

If I can use JFLP as source material for a new SDK version.

=EOA= Players Consortium

For those of you who requested an update, here it is! We have released a new 3D hardware support update for those with newer computers.

This version of the flconfigdatabase.txt file should be the last one you will ever need because it automatically supports all newer ATI, Intel, nVidia, and SiS hardware whether it is a standalone device or an onboard/integrated chipset. You will never need to update again.

To install it just extract the file to your EXE folder and overwrite the existing file.

If you have any problems please let me know.

Come check us out for this and many other cool, classic Freelancer goodies.

The base layout feature does not work with some video hardware setups and will cause a crash. As for the feature not showing up at all... that would most likely be a problem of something not being read correctly. As long as you do things the same way DA did it should work okay.

Hello Freelancers!

I am Louva-Deus from the =EOA= Players Consortium.

I have been playing Freelancer and developing software and mods for it since August of 2003, so pretty much 5 years. Some of my contributions have been: the Freelancer SDK, which has become a staple of the mod maker's arsenal; the Freelancer QuickFix Patch, which has become an essential game update for a better gaming experience and includes new video hardware support for the game; the Freelancer Web Launcher, which is included in the QuickFix Patch and creates a new freelancer:// link protocol that allows players to click on a link on a webpage and load the game to a specified server; the HardCMP Editor, which I conceptualized and designed and my good friend Colin Sanby coded that makes hardpointing Freelancer models quick and easy; and many more.

I have also been involved in administrating several Freelancer communities as well as being an administrative consultant to many others, including The Starport. I am the founder and project manager of the =EOA= Players Consortium, which is an organization of talented Freelancer community members who have dedicated their best efforts to making quality software, mods, and more for Freelancer and various other games.

Despite my many contributions to the Freelancer community I also have a bad reputation, mostly due to my seeming talent for being misconstrued and being the target of wild presumption. For the sake of not sounding arrogant, though, I will say that I certainly started the process by not being clear enough to get my points across. To any who may still hold a grudge against me, I apologize for my lack of clarity. I have never tried to cause anyone problems.

And I will stop there. All you need to know is that I don't bite, I'm friendly to pretty much everyone, I'm always looking for new talent to put to good use, and I will always stand up for what is right and protect those under my care.

Will there be options in the future for different visual styles (not just color changes)?
