It surely looks good enough to be worthy of "better than fine"!
What (in a nutshell, and in layman's terms) does you project entail? Will you be 'releasing' a graphically revamped version of FL? Do you, apart from the graphics rendering, still use all the files that make up the game? Or are you writing a whole new engine? (BTW I apologize if I bore / bother you with these questions; feel free to ignore!)

It turned out that I had an older version of HxD; I installed the new one and this one indeed has the Data inspector ![]() I applied the hacks but unfortunately they don't work for me (I checked twice). My test system is at -1.7, 3.70, so it should work, according to WhiskasTM's description... EDIT instead of changing said values to 112000/-112000, I changed them to 150000/-150000, and now it works ![]() Thanks guys!

Thanks. In HexWorkshop, if I remember correctly, I could swap between floats and bytes (and other display methods) - but not in HxD unfortunately (or at least, I haven't figured out how to). Could you give me the byte versions of 130000f and -130000f?

Thanks Gold_Sear!
I don't quite grasp the third part of the instructions though. That might be because I used to work with HexWorkshop, which stopped working at one point (Norton identified it as some generic virus, and it was a cracked version so I couldn't be totally sure it wasn't), and am now using HxD which is decent, but seems less versatile than HexWorkshop (I must also stress that I am not at all a hacker; I just blindly follow instructions and usually those get it done.) Quote:
I don't understand the sign part (as in HxD there is not an option to 'lift out' the code at e.g. 967F1; in my recollection of HexWorkshop there was, which made such replacements a lot easier). Also "112000f" is 7 characters while these code replacements usually work with an even number. Currently the values at those offsets are: Code:
Maybe you could talk me through it? (I've done the 1st and 2nd parts already.) Also, back at the day (when the youtube demo still worked) I was hugely impressed with the multiverse plugin but I decided not to use it; I've already grown too fond of my 2D solution.

The Player Ship indicator on the Universe Map is bound within a region. Is there a fix to expand this region?
It seems that the farthest left it can be displayed, is at x=-1. When the system is further to the left, the Player Ship is still displayed at x=-1 (see image: the Player Ship indicator *should* be further to the left). ![]() I have quite a bunch of systems planned, which are further left than x=-1; hence my request..

The issue is that, sometimes, you get caught in a seemingly endless loop. So, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Nth time render the 'submission invalid' page.

After w0dk4 made some changes, the site is almost (but not 100%) issue-free for me.
Ironically, it hangs on this very post ![]()

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. As I wrote some posts above yours, I never succeeded in uploading the .ISO, and don't think it is worth keep trying and trying it anyway. I'll remove the link from my web page.

I can only write a very short reply because my time is pressed!

Hmm... I'd prefer to point it to my mod, instead of Freelancer directly, also because at some point I have multiple installations of Freelancer. (Btw I haven't installed Freelancer from an installation disk for years, naybe well over a decade. So, how could there be a register entry for it?) About tracks.exe: I imagine a GUI like your XML->UTF tool would be excellent: in XML->UTF the user can enter an input and an output folder (and it also helps with my, admittedly irrational, aversion against console programs). But I have no idea how this would complicate your task, and/or how much work that would be. Gotta run!

Bugger ![]() This sucks because I tried to upload it maybe 6 times or so, and finally thought it had worked. Well, as the movies aren't that impressive anyway (the most interesting imho are the concept art presentations, which are slideshows with ambient music from the game added to it) I think I'll leave it at this then. I'll remove the link to (and mentioning of) the .ISO first time I feel like maintaining the page.

I have had it only once after w0dk4 changed some settings, as opposed to the, easily, 4 out of 5 times before that. So it definitely makes a lot of difference!

EDIT Attempting to upload the .ISO (3.12 Gb, zipped) takes quite a while, and it failed a couple of times as well. Hopefully this time it'll work.
EDIT As far as I can tell, it's up now.
