Thanks for all the responses. I had to open MS Word to draft my reply so I could ensure I responded to each and every one of you.

@ Timmy51m – I think I am going to get along perfectly well with you. What a response. You summed up FriendFire and w0dk4 perfectly in that response. I love it! Never have I seen them described so perfectly. Pure class.

@ Maverick – Hi, pleasure is all mine. Yes, Akira and I originally meet on TFL (TopFreelancers) a number of years ago. TFL was my first ever FL server and I eventually joined the Admin team there. I am glad to see Akira, with yourself, working on a Mod of your own. I saw the topic with a description of your project. It looks really good. Please keep me updated and do feel free to send me a PM with anything you might need.

@ Bobthemanofsteel – Again the pleasure is all mine. It’s nice to see new faces around and thanks for your kind words. I agree, it is great to see new people taking up modding projects and adding to the community as a whole.

@ FriendlyFire – I was? Holy cow, it’s been so long since the first day we registered on the new forum, it almost feels like a dream.

@ Bas – Good to see you are still lurking around in the shadows How are things with you?

(Sorry, I think I completely took this thread and turned it off topic!!!)

Howdy!

I wanted to post in the original thread about you guys obtaining the domain, but that was closed due to some bad eggs ruining the celebrations for everyone else.

So I will post my congratulations here. TSP will do with that domain what is right for the entire FL community as a whole.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Roo.

I have to echo the thanks to Worfeh for hosting it for so long. He put up with alot, and spent a MASSIVE amount of his time combating attacks in the past. Thanks bud, we all hugely appreciate the time and effort you put in.

Glad to hear there is a new host, so thanks w0dk4.

I'll fix it when I can, but sorry if I don't consider that to be critical. The bar itself works fine.

But... wait... what ever will we do without the page working?

Love ya FF!

Content Writers Needed

I hope no one minds this advertised here. But there are some good writers lurking in the shadows I wish to speak with.

The Electronic Farmyard needs content writers.

The Electronic Farmyard is somewhat different to the other News Blogs you have seen on the internet. For a start our Xbox 360 Gaming Reviews, News and Competitions come courtesy of www.xboxliveaddicts.co.uk; the UK’s premier Xbox 360 fan site. Therefor all Xbox 360 related articles are cut down, but we do provide links directly to the specific article on their site. Xbla is run and owned by Mush_xx a Microsoft Xbox EMEA MVP and the site is also part of the XCN (Xbox Community Network).

I am also really pleased to Introduce Sam Fletcher as our resident movie reviewer. Each Saturday Sam will be sharing his opinions on the latest Hollywood and British Cinema releases. Feel free to share your opinions and views with him in the comments section. Sam is a third year Script Writing Student at the Bournemouth University and Film School. His first review is already on the site (Avatar – was that it?) and this Saturday will see the next one published.

You will also find news and the occasional review on PC Games (online only), iPhone and other Mobile based games also. The mobile gaming side is a focus we would like to see moving forward. iPhone games, Android, BlackBerry and Symbian based too. Many of our articles come from exclusive PR sites, but we require some opinion pieces and community based reviews. Therefor we are looking for someone with a passion for Mobiles to help write these. (In the future, there is the possibility of funding to purchase ‘paid’ games to review).

A further area we are planning to cover is gadgets. Gaming gadgets, home gadgets… if it is a gadget, we want to cover it. To that end we are looking for a researcher/writer to join our small team. We are not looking to become the next ‘Gizmodo’ or ‘TechCrunch’; but we want to be able to provide some content based on rumours & news on fun and quirky gadgets.

With our PC, Xbox 360 and Mobile gaming news being released on N46, UGDB, LinkedIN, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and Del.icio.us we have been lucky enough to attract150+ repeat visitors per day and a further 200+ new visitors daily. Recent articles relating to the new Star Trek Beta, and Mercenary Wars Online game have brought in over 700 unique visitors on single days.

The project has started small and I want it to remain small whilst we spend time developing our strategy and ensuring we have a unique USP (unique selling point) that makes us stand out from the crowd. If you want to get involved, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty then please drop me a line. Remember this is a voluntary position and I can not offer any form of payment at this current time. However due to the nature of my paid employment out in the real world, I may be able to provide UK residents with Expo tickets and invites to Industry events.

Thanks all,

Kris (Roo)

Although not a Freelancer Community site or server, www.electronicfarmyard.com have the bar added.

The Electronic Farmyard is a project of mine which has been growing over the last month. It now receives over 500 unique visitors each day (yes I have the figures to back that up).

I don’t expect to be added to the bar, that wasn’t the idea behind me adding it. I just wanted to show my support. You will also notice I report on a lot of Freelancer Community news as it is. Including the tournaments and events recently held by Monkey Universe and a lot of status updates for the MoTY2009.

Regards,

Kris (Roo)
