Itano Circus Released! The Starport archive
Posted by Worfeh on 2008/12/8 0:25:33 (3454 reads)

Itano Circus is a fast paced amalgation of Freespace, Ace Combat, and Macross. From Freespace I take the general gun layout and the way the guns behave in general. From Ace Combat I take the excellent missile-based gameplay, as well as numerous Ace Combat inspired special effects improvements. And from Macross I get the beautiful ambience of the battle with the ambient explosions, flak, and last but not least, the micro-missile.

Battlestar Galactica - Dawn of War

Human or Cylon. You choose ! Galactica - Dawn of War is a modification ( mod ) of the game Freelancer inspired by the hit TV series Battlestar Galactica. It runs exclusively on the BSG-Galactica Freelancer server.

It features a whole new galaxy based on the galactica story with new systems, new factions, new ships, new weapons and new commodities.

You choose to become a colony or cylon fighter in your viper or cylon raider, alternatively be a tactical pilot on board of the raptor or the heavy raider, and ultimately command your own battleship, a mighty battlestar or a dreadful basestar.

The fate of the second cylon war is in (...)

How to make SURs without using the sur_splice The Starport archive
Posted by Worfeh on 2008/11/17 15:34:37 (2221 reads)

Determining the most efficient method for making SUR's is actually a good way to advance modding development. We all know there are different ways to skin the proverbial "cat". And each method has its place, like Mirkha's excellent SUR tutorial for example (I would reccomend using it if you are making multicomponent SURs). For 90 percent of people however, method SWAT prefers does actually work better in most cases.

I first figured out how to make SURs when Dev first put out the SUR splicing tool. And after making about 150 SUR's using the SUR_splice method, I decided to finally toy around with Argh's method of using lithium unwrap and flmodeltool. After bastardizing it a bit to make it a bit easier (and more capable)... I have to say it works really good. Later on I found out that, this is the same method SWAT uses.

Each method has its value, and we shouldn't be afraid to try them all out and adapt them to the individual (...)

We are proud to announce the release of New Universe 1.7.

- Repair Turrets (two types, one for shield, one for armor)

- Hull Reflector Armor (reflects some part of the incoming energy and hits directly the attacker ships hull, shields don't help here)
