Global List Server Workaround

This small utility has been created by w0dk4 as an alternative method to obtaining a list of online servers. It downloads server IPs from a specific URL on every Freelancer start. This means you are sure to have a sizable amount of known servers on which to play on. This system is entirely opt-in, however, so you may not see all available servers. To get a fresh server list, you need to restart Freelancer.

This Workaround patches Freelancer.exe to query an alternative global list server. For compatibility reasons with other mods, this Workaround overwrites the hostname address setting in the memory. Changes to the listserver hostname entry in freelancer.ini will therefore be ignored. Both the Global List Server hostname and the serverlist URL can be changed in gls_workaround.ini, which is located in the Freelancer/EXE folder.

This workaround will not work if Freelancer.exe has been renamed to any other name!
