Pherkad Research Complex was built by Deep Space Engineering in co-operation with Daumann Heavy Construction. The purpose of the complex is to serve as the headquarters for research and development of the new asteroid mining equipment. The complex is also home to the large scientific community that is here to study the impressive sun of Zeta Leonis. Deep Space Engineering and Daumann Heavy Construction have invested large sums of credits into the construction of the new Equulei Class complex. Although the operational and maintenance costs are high, the complex is a status symbol for all involved a vision of never ending exploration.
