Hey all, kinda new to this whole scene... got bored of eves mammoth time requirements so I started searching for an alternative and came across this game. I have setup a server running in Melborne Australia - 24 / 7.

One of my work colleages is working with me on some minor addons such as integrating player stats with our game forums (Invision Powerboard).

Currently the server is vanilla... that may change but not likely at this stage.

Anyways if you want to check it out feel free to jump on... server details are at:

http://www.progames.com.au/servers/freelancer.html

I also provide a TeamSpeak3 server for players on our gaming network.

Welcome, NoRC.

Just ask if you need info or help, make a new topic in the relevant forum category and there are a lot of knowledgeable people here ready to help.

Allow for time differences though, the sun still never sets on this particular empire! lol

Thanks

We've got about 9 or 10 players now and have been having a blast playin this. Can't beleive I only found out about this game last week hahaha.

I have setup a system that gives players who claim their pilot on our forums a once off in-game bonus of 25K and it will weekly give them (those who've been on for 1 hour or more) a bonus 5K.

Are you going to keep it plain Freelancer or are you considering running a mod?

Going to keep it vanilla.. while I realise everyone else has probably gotten board with vanilla, alot of my players have never played the game before so for us vanilla is still interesting.

I may look at some minor mods down the line.

I have had a few people suggest keeping it vanilla... is there a reason why I keep hearing this?

I think you will find there is not much choice when it comes to stable 24/7 vannila FL anymore which is why people are interested in it! and tbh i would grow upon that. Dont add a mod, there are plenty of servers out there that use mods my 2 servers included but if i had the cash i would add a 3rd which would be vannila! Add your self a good set of rules and Rp environment and your done maybe if your looking at adding bits look down the route of Flhook and work on it through that

Server is still running

I had to move it to a new home lastnite as I was shutting down the server I had it hosted on. But its back online today...

I do prefer vanilla after experimenting with mods and it will stay that way.

The 25K bonus works well at converting players to the forums plus it gives you a great kickstart early in the game I've found.

Cheers...

So finally got me a sponsor and a better server for hosting, there has also been a rebranding process as Oz Gamer Party is no more.

Server Name: ProGames Australia
Server IP : 203.143.82.204
Server Hostname: play-au.progames.com.au

Pilots can still claim their 25K bonus but everything has relocated to http://www.progames.com.au/

Only problem I am having is getting my server included in the ingame list.
