I remember somebody talked this topic before but i cannot found it.

Is anybody tried this on a public VPS server provider?

I can get a cheap VPS server from one of my vHost provider. the server has:

Xen PV
2 x CPU Cores (shared)
Memory: 512MB
Swap: 128MB
HDD: 15GB (7.2K SAS HW RAID 10)
2*IPv4, 2*IPv6
Free Basic DDOS Protection
Monthly Transfer: 250GB
Gigabit Public Network
Gigabit Internal Private Network

server located in Portland USA.

Provider says the server mainly (and likely Only) for Web server, when i ask them i will use this to run a game server on my VPS, they laugh and say i will be suspend if i use too many resource.

So i here to ask this question.... the server maybe just 5-10 people online in same time and running FLHook only. (in this case, let's us the 1.0 server for a standard).

Everyone here wouldn't guess do they cry or laugh if they knew on what hardware clans server is hosted!

your setup would maybe luck the RAM cose that's the thing Im only advanced.

other than that, the data transfer is slight (it worked before on dial-up) and number/quality of connections that are allowed in a same time.

Xen PV fits well if it is not XenServer Free.
For small installation for 5-10 ppl 512 Mb is enough.

512 Mb is not bad for start because all hypervizors with virtual disks has bottleneck - storage i/o.
Why? Because for normal Windoze function you must have swap size =1.5 x size of RAM, it means your swap will be 768 Mb.

Result for virtual disks: More Ram = more swap = more physical storage i/o = less perfomance

SAS HW RAID 10 is perfect if it is dedicated only to your vm

I have a cheap VPS with configuration similar to yours.
I got that for cheap price from XnYnZ.com .They are providing excellent service and support. They provide a service called Bandwidth Overage Protection .So that when my allotted bandwidth is exceeded I can buy extra bandwidth to use.You can also try their hosting service.
