Value 0-1. Explosion damage reduction. 1 means complete immunity, all built in guns have 1.

what is this entry for exactly, it doesnt seem to have an effect. when I shoot at weapons they still break off the ship i'm shooting them from.

what counts as an explosion? and is that the only thing it resists?

explosion_resistance is a damage multiplier!

if yo gun has hp of 5000, explosion_resistance = 0.5 will make it 10000, that means you'll have to make explosion deal at least 10000 damage(at least, depends from the distance from the centre of the explosion).

It f***en works.

I would imagine so, given missiles and mines cause explosions.

I always thought it was how they calculated the final "health" of a weapon on ship death during the separation explosion for loot purposes.

ok so.

if you have a weapon with 10000 total vitality and a damage resistance of 0.75,
and fired a missile at it that did a max of 10000

the impact would only do 75% of the 10000 potential damage? or would it do only 25% of 10000

and also, if your weapon has 10000 HP and a resistance of 1.0, and you shoot it with a normal weapon that does 10000 hull damage, the gun would not be affected?

the gun will be destroyed, explosio_resistance is only about explosions and afaik fuses, not beam weapons
