With the plethora of new models and all things new happening atm with regards to new features in various mods, i was wondering if anyone has seen this video by this dude. This is animation at it's finest, he reckons it cost him around $300 to make which i find hard to believe but all the same, damn fine work

There is a resemblance for sure, that galactic colossus is similar, no question.. A quick heads up on the guy who made the video. He won a contract from the veteran director Sam Raimi who gave him $30 million to make the FX for a new movie. Just shows posting a video on youtube can lead to some very good things lol

Yeah. I heard about this a few weeks back now i believe, there was alot of comments about it on the YT page concerning the flame FX, saying that it would cost ten fold 300 just for that alone, im sorry but that is just completely false, you can make the same visuals using free plugins for blender and such. I should imagine the 300$ was the cost for the camera. and some of the people doing acting in it. Nice to see someone getting a chance to make a name for themself. They deserve it.

If the guy already owns a 3d modeling tool and has experience with it, a camera and LOTS of time is all you need.
Sure, the rendering will take weeks, literally, but it won't cost a cent more (well, unless you count power).
