I have nothing special installed, it works on every single install of XP that I have. Be warned though, if the file format you select is the same as the picture format, it will overwrite your images. I would suggest making a copy of your pics and resizing your copied files.
First, select every pic you want converted to a new size. Then follow the steps below... Right mouse click->Convert to file format... Next window will ask if you want to convert all to the same format, yep, you certainly do so click 'OK'. In the 'Extension' box select '.JPG' In the 'Image Options' group box, set the 'Width' and 'Height' you desire the final pic to be (it should show 'Default' in both boxes), if you want a 1/10th normal size pic for a 1280 x 1024 pic, you would enter 128 for the 'Width' and 102 for the 'Height' to keep the aspect ration close to correct. Click 'OK' to convert them to the new size. It will ask you if you want to overwrite any pics of the same format (you picked JPG format when all of the pics are JPG), you select 'Yes to all'. This is why you need to make a copy of the pics you want to convert, otherwise you will lose all of your full size pics. That's it, nothing special involved. I have verified this works on Win XP SP2 and SP3.

I'm pretty sure you have something installed LS because I've never seen that and I do not have it on this computer running XP SP3.

I must have something installed because I just checked at work and I don't have that on this system. If I figure out what program is adding it I will post it here. It's a really useful feature.
Ther used to be a free program on the web called 'Resizer' that would do mass resizing of pictures, if I can find that in my archives I will put up a download for it. @Why485 - great pics, I saw those on your blog, you do great work!
