How to make myself an Admin in my own private server?

Hey guys,

This may very well end up as a post where I am redirected to another site and so on but please do hear me out.

I am a casual player who've recently decided to reinstall my dusty old Freelancer game and managed to influence a number of my friends to join me as I've created my own private FL server.

I'd just like to know considering now that more than just a few of my friends have joined, how do I make myself an admin for my own server so I can moderate any abuse and or whatsoever?

Any help would be much appreciated

The question is a bit general.

If you want to edit player files etc, you can try to start with

=> IONCROSS Server Operator

where you should also be able to find the necessary data files for vanilla Freelancer.
It's old and there will be better tools, but it can be a start.

To be honest, just for the heck of being an Admin hahaha.

I'm currently running on the new Discovery GC 4.86 Mod.

Any idea on how I should go about changing my own status to be an admin?

Another reason is also so that I could get my ass into the Lost Battlestar without getting my ass handed back to me in a million stardust particles.

The discovery mod includes almost everything you need to make yourself and admin and run your own server.

First, start FLServer. It should open an FLHook console window. If it doesn't you'll need to install the MSVCRT libraries.

From the FLHook console, type "setadmin <yourshipname> superadmin". That's it, now you're an admin.

There are a bunch of FLHook commands. To get to the Lost Battlestar, type "beam <yourshipname> Lost Battlestar"

Ioncross works okay with Discovery although you might want to consider downloading DS Account Manager and DS Process Manager. These programs are available from the starport forge.

Hmmm my FLHook doesn't launch when I click start on the hosting. Where can I get MSVCRT libraries from? and once I've gotten that what do I do with it and or where do I copy it to?
