If you want to fix it, be my guest, I'm not delving in its innards again.

Yeh well, we spend waaaay to much time into finding the right CMS with build-in forums.

Might have been better to look a lil further than a php based system and go for liferay or someting. Downside is that it is based on java, but it does support php scripting with ajax components.

But if it makes you feel better; sure I take the blame for this site and its code base without any decent logic

How are you doing lately FF? Still living in that french enclave in CA?

Didn't Xoops have 2 username fields? Some php programmer should be able to build that in to the profile pages, not?

This is the so-called Doppler effect, and it also occurs in the sirene of an ambulance or police car or firetruck, that passes you. When the car is getting nearer to you, the sirene is higher and faster, and when it is moving away from you, the sound wave is stretched, making the sirene sound slower and lower.

This so reminded me of this

Once the admins have approved my uploads (2 of them) you can copy the content from those mods if you like.
2 mods, admin mod and user mod what ran on the Jolt servers the last months of their excistense.

Ohh my rank shows administrator, only cos i once was one here i think. But no rights anymore

[about WoW]

It has been fun the first 4 weeks, after that its getting back to doing the same.
I stopped raiding because i can't find the time anymore. And after leveling 3 characters to level 85 i have seen the new zones a little bit too much.

I can imagine; my initial excitement is also slowly shifiting towards the fatigue/boredom I had... But it'still nice atm. I'm happy with my worgen druid, but I'm still not quite used to being in the ally camp now (had some ally chars before, but mainly to get rich off cross-faction deals).

Never did any raids btw... Find it too much of a hassle. I even don't like dungeons/instances that much. Or rather, the way most people want to play them (as fast as possible and skipping all trivial stuff - but to me trivial stuff is pretty much the quintessence of life ) Maybe Blizz should change their reward system.

Bit of a late response

But well, tried to do the worgen start area and i hated it the minute i had to fight my friends the forsaken/undead.
Im Horde all the way, with all 4 chars (at 85) now.
The raiding is ok. But i miss the excitement and the community as it was before.
I am a healer on 3 characters, and i basicly have a say in dungeons, and believe me; i hate skipping stuff in them as well.
Right now im back to semi active raiding, 3 times a week for 3 hours per evening. I do this with good friends, and that makes it nice.

So am I. After having cursed the game after patch 4.0, I got more and more curious about how it would look and feel on my new laptop. So I bought the expansion and six months playing time. Having quite some fun, tbh.

FL is way cooler, but I do wish we could have some more variation in the missions...

Edit:
For the ones who don't know me. I was a lil bit active on TSP when it became a popular modding community.

IPV4 will vanish once it becomes to expensive and when IPV6 will have some cash making bennefits.
No ISP is willing to invest a great amount of cash for basicly doing the same thing, especialy if IPV4 is still cheap and way to easy to maintain.

ISP's will have to do a lot, like replacing routers with customers, in their own internal network. And also make sure their customers know what they are up against.
And right now only a handfull of ISP's have updated their networks or are in the process of updating them.

The DNS update went extremely fast.
Thats why it went that fast.

I would like to thank all for the support in the past 1.5 years i hosted Startport.
Due to a lot of real life reasons and also a change of interest i decided a few months ago i should stop with hosting Startport.

I had a lot of fun working on a project like this, doing the DB stuff and keeping the server clear from nasty things.
But time and interest went away and i was slacking, it could be days to notice me if there would be something wrong, and that isn't right as server monkey.

Heads up to W0dk4 who took the brave decission to host Starport, and i believe he is the right person for the job.

Also heads up to the other admins, who keep this site clean of unwanted messages and users.
I still think it is a great achievment that we did to bring Starport to this level and that it can be part of a still going on Freelancer community.

Heads up to the numurous server admins and mod developers who keep this game going for that redicules amout of time allready, and still it gets developed more *bows*.

And thanks to all the "regular" readers, people who contribute to the community in what ever form they choosed to forfill.

Im not entirely gone, will check this site from time to time and will post some spam where needed.

Regards,

Worfeh/Elbert
